Welcome to SpineRecover.com — a place built on pain, persistence, and progress.
My name is Dax, and I created this website after going through L5-S1 spinal fusion surgery in October 2025. For years, I battled back pain that started all the way back in 2010. I was brushed off by doctors, told it was “normal,” and pushed through life with pain that only got worse. After years of failed injections, endless tests, and frustration, I finally found two incredible surgeons — Dr. Miles from Columbia Orthopedic Group and Dr. Salinas, a vascular surgeon from Columbia, Missouri — who located the real issue and performed my surgery.
This site was born from that experience — the real, honest recovery that follows when the world goes quiet and it’s just you, your pain, and the hope of healing.
Why I Created SpineRecover
There are countless articles about spine surgery written by doctors, but very few written by the patients living through it. That’s what this blog is all about — the real truth from someone who’s been there. I share my ups, downs, small wins, and the painful lessons in between.
You’ll find everything from daily recovery updates to first-hand product recommendations that helped me survive the toughest days — like ice packs, bed rails, and walkers that made standing up possible again.
